Le blog de la Bergerie                         Sharing the faith . . . in English . . . et en français!    |
"Verrine" comes from the French word: "verre" and it means simply filling a glass with a dessert, adding various layers on top of each other.
In this case, it is a
Verrine with red berries: a mix of strawberries and dry cranberries
and honey, fresh blueberries, a spicy pecan mix from Trader Joes, crumbled Milano
cookies and whipped cream on top. For the cookie, you can subsitute whatever
you want. Once I used a gluten free cookie for my friend on a gluten free diet.
For the red berries mix, you can also add raspberries or boysenberries, depending
on the season. You could also add a bit of cognac in the red berry mix. Et Voila!
