Saint Michel Archange,
défendez-nous dans le combat,
soyez notre secours contre la malice
et les embûches du démon.

Que Dieu exerce sur lui son empire,
nous vous le demandons en suppliant.

Et vous, Prince de la Milice Céleste,
repoussez en enfer par la force divine
Satan et les autres esprits mauvais
qui rôdent dans le monde
en vue de perdre les âmes.

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against
the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;

    Prayer to Saint Raphael Archangel

O Raphael, lead us towards those we are waiting for, those who are waiting for us! Raphael, Angel of Happy Meetings, lead us by the hand towards those we are looking for! May all our movements, all their movements, be guided by your Light and transfigured by your Joy.

      Angel, guide of Tobias, lay the request we now address to you at the feet of Him on whose unveiled Face you are privileged to gaze. Lonely and tired, crushed by the separations and sorrows of life, we feel the need of calling to you and of pleading for the protection of your wings, so that we may not be as strangers in the Province of Joy, all ignorant of the concerns of our country.

      Remember the weak, you who are strong--you whose home lies beyond the region of thunder, in a land that is always peaceful, always serene, and bright with the resplendent glory of God.

§350 Angels are spiritual creatures who glorify God without ceasing and who serve his saving plans for other creatures: "The angels work together for the benefit of us all" (St. Thomas Aquinas, STh I, 114, 3, ad 3).

I. THE ANGELS: The existence of angels - a truth of faith
§328 The existence of the spiritual, non-corporeal beings that Sacred Scripture usually calls "angels" is a truth of faith. the witness of Scripture is as clear as the unanimity of Tradition.
Who are they?
§329 St. Augustine says: "'Angel' is the name of their office, not of their nature. If you seek the name of their nature, it is 'spirit'; if you seek the name of their office, it is 'angel': from what they are, 'spirit', from what they do, 'angel.'"188 With their whole beings the angels are servants and messengers of God. Because they "always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven" they are the "mighty ones who do his word, hearkening to the voice of his word".189
§330 As purely spiritual creatures angels have intelligence and will: they are personal and immortal creatures, surpassing in perfection all visible creatures, as the splendor of their glory bears witness.190 Christ "with all his angels"
§331 Christ is the center of the angelic world. They are his angels: "When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him. . "191 They belong to him because they were created through and for him: "for in him all things were created in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or authorities - all things were created through him and for him."192 They belong to him still more because he has made them messengers of his saving plan: "Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to serve, for the sake of those who are to obtain salvation?"193

I. Les Anges
L’existence des anges – une vérité de foi
§328 L’existence des êtres spirituels, non corporels, que l’Écriture Sainte nomme habituellement anges, est une vérité de foi. Le témoignage de l’Écriture est aussi net que l’unanimité de la Tradition. Qui sont-ils ?
§329 S. Augustin dit à leur sujet : " ‘Ange’ désigne la fonction, non pas la nature. Tu demandes comment s’appelle cette nature ? – Esprit. Tu demandes la fonction ? – Ange ; d’après ce qu’il est, c’est un esprit, d’après ce qu’il fait, c’est un ange " (Psal. 103, 1, 15). De tout leur être, les anges sont serviteurs et messagers de Dieu. Parce qu’ils contemplent " constamment la face de mon Père qui est aux cieux " (Mt 18, 10), ils sont " les ouvriers de sa parole, attentifs au son de sa parole " (Ps 103, 20).
§330 En tant que créatures purement spirituelles, ils ont intelligence et volonté : ils sont des créatures personnelles (cf. Pie XII : DS 3801) et immortelles (cf. Lc 20, 36). Ils dépassent en perfection toutes les créatures visibles. L’éclat de leur gloire en témoigne (cf. Dn 10, 9-12). Le Christ " avec tous ses anges "
§331 Le Christ est le centre du monde angélique. Ce sont ses anges à Lui : " Quand le Fils de l’homme viendra dans sa gloire avec tous ses anges ... " (Mt 25, 31). Ils sont à Lui parce que créés par et pour lui : " Car c’est en lui qu’ont été créées toutes choses, dans les cieux et sur la terre, les visibles et les invisibles : trônes, seigneuries, principautés, puissances ; tout a été créé par lui et pour lui " (Col 1, 16). Ils sont à Lui plus encore parce qu’Il les a faits messagers de son dessein de salut : " Est-ce que tous ne sont pas des esprits chargés d’un ministère, envoyés en service pour ceux qui doivent hériter le salut ? " (He 1, 14)...
